Eleven individuals have sustained injuries following a collision between a minibus and a car on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. The incident occurred just before midday on Monday in Gellibrand Lower, when a blue Hyundai hatchback collided head-on with the minibus.
Details of the Crash
The male driver of the Hyundai suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while his female passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. All eight passengers aboard the minibus, along with its male driver, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency Response
Emergency services are currently treating the injured at the scene before transporting them to hospital. Police have confirmed that investigations into the crash remain ongoing.
Road Closures and Detours
The Great Ocean Road is closed in both directions between Colac-Lavers Hill Road and Fords Road in Princetown. VicTraffic has advised that a significant detour is in place. Drivers travelling between the Surf Coast and Port Campbell or Warrnambool are urged to take an inland detour via the Princes Highway through Colac.
