"The staff were incredibly welcoming," Baillie noted. "When they saw my panic at the German menu, they immediately provided an English version." She enjoyed a delicious homemade potato soup with bacon bits and a traditional laugenbrezel pretzel, accompanied by a small Kumulus wheat beer - all for just €13.90 ($24 AUD).
Value Assessment and Alternative Options
At €260 ($458 AUD) for the hotel stop, the experience represented significant expense but delivered excellent value. Baillie reflected that she felt "fresh, well-fed and well-rested" facing the subsequent two-hour bus transfer to Nuremberg.
