Yoto Launches First Originals Week with Free Audio Content
Yoto Originals Week Launches with Free Audio Content

It is the screen-free audio platform adored by millions of parents worldwide, myself included. Now, Yoto — the creators of the award-winning audio players for children and families — is introducing its first ever Yoto Originals Week from 11th to 18th May. This event offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creativity, characters, and artistry behind their original audio content produced by Yoto Studios.

New Titles and Discounts

Yoto will release 16 new Yoto Originals titles on 11th May to kick off the celebrations. Throughout the week, there will be up to 20 per cent off the entire Yoto Originals range.

Yoto already boasts an ever-expanding library of over 1,000 audio titles, ranging from childhood classics like The Gruffalo and the complete Harry Potter series to iconic music from the Spice Girls and the Beatles. Alongside licensed content, Yoto Studios produces Yoto Originals, masterminded by a dedicated in-house team whose mission is to create inspiring audio for children of all ages, working with world-class authors, award-winning musicians, creatives, and sound artists.

Commitment to Human Talent

While new AI technology can bring benefits, such as making content more accessible in multiple languages, Yoto consciously invests in real human talent when creating its world-class audio. The Yoto Originals library, which includes hundreds of titles, grows richer every year.

To celebrate alongside the new title launches, Yoto is releasing over 11 hours of its much-loved Yoto Originals content — completely free of charge — on the Discover section of the Yoto app for the entire week. Families everywhere can enjoy these specially curated collections, which include full-length digital versions of popular Yoto Originals cards spanning four age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-10, and 11+.

Families simply need to download the Yoto app and create a free account to enjoy hours of incredible audio at their fingertips. For those who want even more, a Yoto Club Explorer subscription unlocks unlimited digital access to over 200 Yoto Originals cards from $7.99 per month, with the first two weeks completely free.

“Every Yoto Originals card starts and ends with real people: a writer with an idea, a musician with a melody, a voice artist who makes a character come alive, an editor with an ear for detail,” said Dan Hodge, Head of Yoto Studios, in a statement. “In a world where it is increasingly easy to generate content with AI, we are committed to placing human-made audio at the heart of everything we produce. Yoto Originals are crafted with genuine care, creativity, and talent, because we believe children deserve quality, trusted audio that is made with as much love as it brings to every listen.”

Yoto Originals Week Activities

Yoto Originals Week is an invitation for families to get involved on Yoto’s social media channels through polls, giveaways, and exclusive content that celebrates the real listening experiences at the heart of the Yoto community. It runs from 11 May to 18 May 2026, with free content available on the app.

Since launching in Australia in July 2024, the award-winning audio brand Yoto has changed the way thousands of children enjoy audiobooks, music, podcasts, and more. In fact, such was the unexpected popularity during Black Friday last year that Yoto Australia had to employ extra staff and upgrade their courier service to ensure Yoto orders made it by Christmas.

What is Yoto?

Designed with Montessori principles in mind, Yoto is the first screen, microphone, camera, and ad-free portable speaker system for children aged 3-12 years. Built to be controlled by children themselves, Yoto helps families unlock safe, autonomous playtime for their children via engaging audio experiences — whether that is listening to the Frozen or Wicked soundtracks (as my three-year-old loves to do) or some of Julia Donaldson’s best-selling stories.

The device itself (3rd Generation; $179.99) uses physical cards that are loaded into the machine and played at the child’s leisure. From audiobooks to songs, educational lessons, and white noise, there is something for every child, whether they are a toddler, young child, or tween. There is also a mini version of the Yoto ($129.99), which is great for travel or life on the go.

Personal Experience

Having owned a 3rd Generation Yoto Player for three years now, I can safely say it is one of the parenting items that I would not do without. Since investing in the machine, we have bought countless Yoto accessories, including additional cards, a card holder, and the Yoto “adventure jacket” case which keeps the player safely protected. Both of my children (including the one-year-old) absolutely love the gadget, and it has a firm home in my eldest’s bedroom. I look forward to continuing to use it as the years go by, and both kids have increasing capacity to listen to stories and plots. The next Yoto accessory I wish to invest in is the headphones, so we can take the player with us on long-haul flights to visit family in the UK. I also have my eye on a few new cards permanently, as I know there is nothing my daughter loves more.
