Emergency services responded to two separate motorcycle collisions in Rockingham on Saturday morning, leaving two riders with significant injuries. The most dramatic incident saw a rider partially thrown through the window of a suburban home.
Woman Seriously Hurt in Dramatic Waikiki Smash
The first and most serious crash occurred on Goongarrie Drive in Waikiki at approximately 9:30am. According to police reports, a CFMOTO motorcycle collided with a house, with the force of the impact propelling the rider partway through a front window.
The rider, a 35-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries in the collision. St John Ambulance paramedics treated her at the scene before rushing her to Royal Perth Hospital under priority conditions.
A hospital spokesman confirmed on Saturday afternoon that the woman was in a serious but stable condition. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and State Emergency Service (SES) also attended to ensure the structural safety of the home following the violent impact.
Second Collision Near Rockingham Intersection
Just over an hour later, emergency crews were called to another incident nearby. At around 11am, a car and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Arkwright and Dixon roads in Rockingham.
The male motorcycle rider, believed to be in his 30s, suffered leg injuries as a result of this crash. He was transported by ambulance to Fiona Stanley Hospital under normal road conditions.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Information
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the initial Waikiki crash. Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage to come forward.
