Three Hospitalised After Two-Car Crash in Sydney's Regents Park
Three individuals have been hospitalised following a serious two-car collision in Regents Park, located in Sydney's southwest. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Emergency Response and Injuries
Emergency services were called to Amy Street in Regents Park at approximately 12.40am on Sunday after reports of the crash. Among those injured was a 32-year-old man, the driver of a grey sedan, who became trapped in his vehicle after it was rear-ended. Fire and Rescue NSW personnel worked to free him from the wreckage before he was transported to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The sedan sustained extensive rear-end damage, with its back section crumpled and pushed in from the impact. Images from the scene depict a silver hatchback positioned behind the sedan, showing significant front-end damage as well.
Additional Casualties and Investigation
A passenger in the hatchback, a man in his 30s, suffered facial injuries and was also taken to hospital in a stable condition. The driver of the hatchback, a 30-year-old woman, returned a positive roadside breath test. She was subsequently transported to hospital for treatment and mandatory testing, also reported to be in a stable condition.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the crash are currently underway to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the collision.
