Teenage Victim of Violent Home Invasion Reveals She Feared for Her Life
A teenage woman who was brutally bashed by two armed intruders in her own home has courageously spoken out about the terrifying ordeal, revealing that she genuinely believed she was going to die during the violent attack.
Madison Deering, aged 19, was home alone on the afternoon of March 26 when she woke up to find a stranger standing directly in front of her at approximately 2:20 pm.
Sudden and Unrelenting Assault
"By the time I actually realised someone's in front of me, they've punched me in the face," Deering recounted to news reporters. The attack was immediate and relentless, with the two intruders unleashing a flurry of punches upon the young woman.
"I just froze. Next minute I'm laying in my bed and there is blood gushing out of my nose," she described. "I was like... I'm gonna die here, I'm gonna die here, I'm gonna die here."
Severe Injuries and Psychological Trauma
Deering suffered significant physical injuries from the assault, including a fractured nose, along with extensive bruising and blood loss. The attack occurred at her residence in Ballajura, located in Perth's northern suburbs.
In a disturbing development, the property was equipped with multiple security cameras, but this surveillance did nothing to deter the attackers from carrying out their violent home invasion.
The psychological impact has been profound. "I haven't even been able to walk in my bedroom," Deering admitted. "I was supposed to be applying for a job. I don't know if I can do that. Mentally, I'm too scared to even drive. I think someone's following me."
Escape and Investigation
Deering has no knowledge of who terrorized her, with the strangers only fleeing the scene when they were startled by the unexpected arrival of her twin brother returning home. Police confirmed that the brother was also threatened during the incident, with one of the assailants brandishing a machete.
Law enforcement authorities are actively searching for the two male perpetrators, who made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the property.
Suspect Descriptions and Vehicle Details
Both attackers were described as men in their 20s wearing distinctive yellow high-visibility clothing. Specific physical descriptions include:
- One man was bald with visible neck tattoos and had a slim build
- The other had a solid, muscular build with brown hair
Midland detectives have released a photograph of the getaway vehicle used by the assailants - a blue Ford Falcon sedan with no license plates displayed. Police are urging anyone with information about this vehicle or the suspects to come forward immediately.
Deering has made a heartfelt plea to the public, emphasizing that she will not feel safe again until the intruders are apprehended and brought to justice. She encouraged anyone with potentially relevant information to contact local law enforcement authorities without delay.
