A Friday evening meal at a popular Central Coast eatery turned into a scene of violence, leaving one man fighting for his life and another under arrest.
Violent Altercation at The Entrance
Emergency services rushed to a restaurant on The Entrance Road at The Entrance just before 6pm on Friday, following urgent reports of a stabbing. Paramedics discovered a 63-year-old man with significant injuries to his neck and face.
The victim received immediate treatment at the scene before being airlifted in a critical condition to Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital, where he remains under close medical supervision.
Swift Police Investigation Leads to Arrest
Police quickly established a crime scene at the restaurant, cordoning off the area to begin their investigation into the circumstances of the attack. Their inquiries led them to a 40-year-old man, who was arrested nearby in the suburb of Long Jetty.
Authorities believe the alleged attacker was known to the victim. The arrested man was taken to Wyong Police Station for questioning.
Charges Laid and Bail Refused
The 40-year-old man has been formally charged with reckless wounding in a domestic violence context and with breaching an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO).
He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday to face the serious allegations.
The incident has shocked the local community, with police continuing their investigations into the violent outbreak that disrupted a typically peaceful coastal locale.
