Emergency services have successfully freed a person trapped in a vehicle after it crashed off the Pacific Motorway and struck a tree near Lake Macquarie on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred just after 11am on January 7, 2026, approximately five kilometres south of the Morisset exit ramp. Reports indicate a single vehicle left the roadway before colliding with a tree.
