Paramedics at Redhead Beach Save Two Men in Dual Morning Emergencies
Dual Emergencies at Redhead Beach Prompt Paramedic Response

Double Drama Unfolds at Redhead Beach

It was a morning of two very different emergencies at Redhead Beach on Sunday, where a routine welfare check quickly escalated into a life-saving intervention. NSW Ambulance paramedics, including a specialist operations team, were initially called to the iconic shark tower around 7:10 am after a man in his 20s was spotted lying on the large wooden structure.

Shark Tower Welfare Check

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene to find the young man, who had reportedly been sleeping. Specialist crews safely reached him and conducted an assessment, finding him in a stable condition. Authorities believe the man was intoxicated. He was successfully helped down from the tower by 8:50 am and did not require transport to hospital.

Second Emergency Strikes

As the first situation was being resolved, a second, more critical emergency unfolded just metres away. A man in his 40s was coming out of the surf when he suffered a suspected cardiac event and collapsed on the beach. The same intensive care paramedics who had just completed the shark tower rescue were immediately on hand to provide urgent medical care.

Thanks to their immediate presence, the man received prompt treatment and was transported to John Hunter Hospital for further care. The rapid response by the paramedics, who found themselves at the right place at the right time, was crucial in managing this serious medical incident.
