An insider at the GME communications company has revealed that, just a couple of weeks ago, a cyclist stranded in the middle of the Snowy River for four hours, clinging to reeds in freezing conditions, was rescued after activating his GME personal location beacon.
Rescue Operation Details
The beacon triggered the Eastern States rescue operation, and a helicopter was sent to save him in the middle of the night.
The spokesperson says: “It’s a stark reminder: when you’re beyond reception, it’s not about searching for help — it’s about being found.”
“That’s exactly what the MT620GR is built for. Designed as a true last line of defence, it removes the ‘search’ from search and rescue. The device instantly alerts emergency services with your exact location and confirms when help is on the way.”
