As a newly engaged fiancée with zero wedding plans, shopping for a wedding dress is fun and pressure-free, meaning I can happily scroll through endless websites. It’s already led me to some serious discoveries, including the top bridal trends for 2026 and the fact that you don’t have to fork out thousands for a designer dress.
Inspiration from 2026 Brides
Thanks to 2026 brides like Alexandra Saint Mleux, who married F1 racer Charles Leclerc earlier this year in a jaw-dropping lace gown, and Dua Lipa, who elegantly graced the courthouse steps in London in a chic two-piece set, there’s no shortage of inspiration. As for trends, drop waists continue to be a bestseller, while non-white shades, draping and floral embroidery are appearing on dresses of all lengths. Lace is everywhere too, with the ‘vintage revival’ forecast to be even bigger this year. Expect to see it across all kinds of bridal pieces — including accessories.

While every bride deserves to experience a boutique appointment with a glass of champagne in hand, there’s no longer a need to splurge on a custom-made dress if it doesn’t suit the budget. Because plenty of brands are now offering beautiful bridal styles for a fraction of the price. From Shona Joy to Meshki, Significant Other and Third Form, anything under $1,000 is considered a steal for upcoming nuptials.

Browsing through Shona Joy’s new arrivals section has become one of my favourite pastimes, and the latest drop of bridalwear has caught my immediate attention. As someone on the hunt for low-key, simple silhouettes, the Labyrinth dress has a satin fabric that looks effortless on the body, skimming in all the right places.
L’IDEE Marmont Top, $329, Gala Skirt, $349
Two-piece sets are continuing to dominate, with structured blazers and tailored pants leading the charge. Determined to find something a little different, I discovered L’IDEE’s Gala skirt and Marmont top in the brands’ recognisable architectural pleating, which offers a modern look for any wedding destination.

Lace is forecasted to be huge throughout 2026, and I’ve noticed more than a few off-the-rack dresses showcasing this delicate detailing more than usual. On a hunt for a vintage-inspired silhouette, I came across the Esha Dress from Significant Other, with hand-finished lace and a detachable satin slip.

While not strictly a wedding dress, there’s no reason why Third Form’s Solstice floor length gown can’t be considered as bridalwear. Complete with an off-white colour, asymmetrical one shoulder and sheer chiffon overlay, it’s a strong contender for anyone looking for something simple and elegant.

If you’re looking for something more structured yet feminine for upcoming nuptials — I’ve discovered a budget-friendly dress from Chancery. The in-house fashion brand at The Iconic just dropped the Jordie Suiting Dress, a longline blazer dress and lace skirt that can be worn separately or as one for a complete bridal look.
Meshki Willow Off Shoulder Satin Maxi Gown, $749
If you thought that you could only get your hands on a fuller gown through a boutique appointment and expensive custom-made dress — think again. Meshki has a wide range of styles for the modern bride, including the off-the-shoulder Willow Gown which is hard to believe it’s under $1,000.
AJE Gia Embroidered Gown, $799
A big bouquet of flowers isn’t the only floral accessory walking down the aisle this year. Structured florals is another key trend for 2026, with embroidered flowers spotted on dresses of all lengths, including the maxi Gia dress from homegrown label AJE.
