"We all know the Illawarra escarpment doesn't take prisoners," the National Truck Accident Research Centre stated in their safety announcement. While the educational video was primarily aimed at heavy vehicle operators, Ross Transport emphasized that road safety represents a shared responsibility for all motorists using this critical freight corridor.
The transport company explained their motivation for creating the safety resources, stating: "We are making these resources freely available to support the industry in navigating one of NSW's most critical freight corridors." The video focuses particularly on managing risks associated with steep descents, which remains a constant priority for heavy vehicle compliance and safety.
