A devastating multi-vehicle collision on Bussell Highway near Metricup has claimed the life of a 53-year-old woman, with police now conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 pm on October 24 when emergency services were called to Bussell Highway near Harmans Mill Road in Western Australia's South West region. According to police reports, a white and red Freightliner truck towing multiple trailers was travelling northbound when one of its trailers collided with two southbound vehicles.
The vehicles involved in the impact were identified as a black Volkswagen Tiguan and a gold Subaru Outback. The 53-year-old female driver of the Subaru sustained critical injuries in the collision and required immediate medical attention.
Rescue crews worked quickly at the scene before the woman was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
