Police in Western Australia's Pilbara region are urgently searching for a driver following a suspected hit and run that left a man with serious injuries in South Hedland.
Man Found Unconscious at Intersection
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning. A 51-year-old man was discovered unconscious on the road at the intersection of Demarchi and Haines Roads around 12:45am. Emergency services were quickly called to the scene.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the man was found with serious injuries. He received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to the Hedland Health Campus for urgent treatment.
Major Crash Investigation Launched
Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section have taken charge of the case. After examining the scene, they determined that the man's significant injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Victim Flown to Perth for Treatment
