Two teenage boys are in a critical condition following a terrifying collision between a motorcycle and a car in Perth's western suburbs on Tuesday afternoon.
The serious crash occurred around 4:30pm on Kingsland Avenue in the affluent beachside suburb of City Beach, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Emergency crews including police, paramedics and fire services descended on the scene following multiple emergency calls reporting the collision.
Witnesses described a scene of chaos as emergency workers worked frantically to stabilise the two teenagers before transporting them to Royal Perth Hospital.
Critical Condition
Both boys, believed to be in their mid-teens, sustained life-threatening injuries in the impact. Medical professionals at one of WA's major trauma centres are currently fighting to save their lives.
"The two male riders, believed to be aged 16 and 17, have been taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a serious condition," a WA Police spokesperson confirmed.
Investigation Underway
Major Crash Investigators have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Kingsland Avenue remained closed for several hours overnight as forensic experts examined the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage who were in the City Beach area around 4:30pm to come forward.
The crash has reignited concerns about road safety in Perth's western suburbs, where narrow streets and increasing traffic volumes have created challenging driving conditions.
This incident serves as a sobering reminder for all road users to exercise extreme caution, particularly during peak hours when visibility and traffic conditions can change rapidly.
