Tame Impala Announces Australian Tour with Kevin Parker Leading Six-Piece Band

Perth-based musician Kevin Parker is set to lead his Grammy-winning musical project Tame Impala on a highly anticipated Australian tour this October. The tour will feature a series of four national arena shows, culminating in a raucous homecoming performance at RAC Arena in Perth.

Grammy Success and Album Release

Parker, the world-conquering artist behind Tame Impala, released his fifth studio album, Deadbeat, in September 2025. The album includes hit singles such as Loser, Dracula, and End of Summer. Notably, End of Summer earned Parker his first solo Grammy award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording earlier this month. This achievement follows his 2025 win in the same category for Neverender, a collaboration with the pioneering French electronic group Justice.

Deadbeat marks Parker's first album release in five years, following 2020's The Slow Rush. The album was largely crafted between his residence in Fremantle and his legendary Wave House studio, located in WA's rugged Injidup region near Yallingup. It showcases the 40-year-old artist's unique and evolving blend of psychedelic house music, euphoric vocals, and metronomic dance beats.

Collaborations and Band Formation

While much of Parker's most revered work has come as a solo artist, he boasts an enviable list of collaborations as a producer, including work with global stars such as Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Rihanna, and Mark Ronson. For this tour, Parker will front Tame Impala's newly-formed six-piece band, bringing a fresh dynamic to his live performances.

The Deadbeat Tour kicked off with 12 sold-out shows across North America in October last year, followed by a European tour scheduled for this April. Parker will then return to the US and Canada in July for a slew of arena shows, supported by Djo (Stranger Things star Joe Keery) and singer-songwriter Dominic Fike. Notably, Keery also featured his acting talent in the video clip for Parker's track Loser.

Australian Tour Details and Support Acts

The Australian leg of the Deadbeat Tour will commence in Brisbane on October 10, with subsequent performances in Melbourne on October 14, Sydney on October 19, and a grand finale in Perth on October 24. Parker will be supported by emerging Australian artist Ninajirachi, an NSW-based DJ who secured an impressive four spots in Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown in January.

Tame Impala itself achieved third place in the same countdown with the viral hit Dracula. While Parker performed in Australia in 2025 as a DJ and opening act for Justice, this tour marks the return of Tame Impala to Australian shores as a full band, following their Covid-affected performances in 2022.

Ticket Information and Fan Anticipation

Earlier this month, Frontier Touring hinted at the upcoming tour with a cryptic message to fans asking, "End of Summer?" This was followed by a post featuring Parker, captioned: "My friends are saying, shut up Kevin, just announce the tour..." Pre-sale tickets will be available starting Wednesday, February 25 at 9am local time, with general sales following on February 27.
