The Four Kinsmen Reunite After Emotional Tribute to Late Member Graham Wilson
Australian music stalwarts, The Four Kinsmen, are set to reunite for a special performance after being inspired by a touching tribute to their late bandmate, Graham Wilson. The group, which holds the distinction of being the first Australian act to run a season of shows in Las Vegas, will take the stage at Panthers in Penrith on March 1, 2026.
A Heartfelt Moment in Wollongong Sparks Reunion
According to Wollongong-based member Scott Radburn, the reunion was sparked by an emotional performance in Wollongong. Robert Pearson and George Harvey were in the city to perform at Centro on what would have been Graham Wilson's birthday. Wilson, the fourth member of the group, tragically passed away from brain cancer in 2022.
"I was in the audience," Radburn recalled. "Right at the end of the show, they said, 'We would like to bring our partner Scott Radburn up on stage.' They then invited the audience to join in singing Happy Birthday to Graham. For the final song, they asked me what The Four Kinsmen's favourite song was. I told them it was 'Love is All Around.'"
The three remaining members performed the song that night, with Wilson joining them through technology. A recording allowed him to play guitar and sing, creating a poignant moment that bridged past and present.
Rediscovering the Magic On Stage
"The next morning, we sat down and said, 'That was an unbelievable feeling for us guys getting back on stage,'" Radburn explained. "Let's try to get that feeling back again."
Radburn described the prospect of performing together again as "very exciting" and emphasised the unique chemistry that defines The Four Kinsmen. "We went out and were doing our solo careers after we called it a day, and we've all had our own success in our own way," he said. "But the formula and the blend between the four of us guys, you cannot create that again. We can get on stage, and it's just like being in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The world is a wonderful place, and we just go with it, ad-libbing and having a great time as great mates."
Surprises in Store for Fans
The upcoming show at Panthers could serve as a trial run for more performances, though Radburn is keeping details under wraps. He hinted at surprises for the audience, including the potential involvement of Graham Wilson in the show. "I don't want to let the cat out of the bag, but for the audience, expect some surprises," he teased. "Hopefully, Graham is looking down at us now."
Whether The Four Kinsmen will return to Wollongong for a performance remains uncertain, but Radburn acknowledged the city's loyalty. "There's been talk," he said. "Wollongong has been very loyal and very good to us, so we'd like to give something back."
This reunion marks a significant moment for Australian music fans, blending nostalgia with new energy as The Four Kinsmen honour their legacy and their late friend.
