Perth's Biggest NYE: Fireworks, Free Rides & Transport

Perth is set to host its most spectacular New Year's Eve celebration to date, with the City of Perth pulling out all the stops to welcome 2026. The centrepiece of the festivities will be two breathtaking fireworks displays over the iconic Elizabeth Quay, forming part of an expanded event promising entertainment for all ages.

A Night of Dazzling Displays and Family Fun

The evening's schedule is packed with excitement, kicking off with a family-friendly fireworks show at 8.30pm. The grand finale will be a show-stopping midnight spectacle to officially mark the arrival of the new year. Beyond the pyrotechnics, the event will feature roving performers, DJ sets on a floating stage, and a wide array of food trucks.

For families, the Lotterywest Family Fun Zone in Supreme Court Gardens will be a major highlight, offering free carnival rides, shaded areas, and plenty of dining options. Barrack Square will also buzz with activity, hosting an interactive circus and cabaret-style aerial performances ahead of the late fireworks.

Multiple Vantage Points and Extended Celebrations

Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds emphasised that this year's family-friendly celebrations are designed to be bigger and better, drawing thousands into the city centre. He also noted that the fireworks are visible from more than one location. "If the crowds at Elizabeth Quay aren’t your thing, the fireworks can also be seen and heard from a special vantage spot in Birdiya Drive near the Convention Centre," he said.

Revelers have even more options, with Northbridge hosting its own midnight fireworks display. Many city restaurants and bars will also remain open throughout the evening, providing ample opportunities to celebrate.

Getting Home Safely

To ensure a safe conclusion to the night's festivities, public transport will run all night. In a welcome move, free travel on buses and trains will be available from midnight until 6am on January 1, 2026. This initiative is expected to help manage crowds and provide a convenient option for partygoers.

With its dual fireworks, extensive free entertainment, and practical transport plans, Perth's 2025 New Year's Eve is shaping up to be an unmissable city-wide party.
