Joondalup CBD Unveils Vibrant 2026 Events Calendar for Fitness and Fun
The City of Joondalup has officially launched its exciting Experience Joondalup initiative, revealing a packed calendar of community events designed to bring energy and activity to the heart of the city centre throughout 2026.
From yoga in the park to outdoor movie nights, the program offers a diverse range of activities catering to all ages and interests, aiming to transform the Joondalup CBD into a vibrant community hub.
Health and Wellbeing Take Centre Stage
Health and fitness are a major focus of the new program. The Move, Stretch & Sweat sessions will be held in Central Park every Sunday throughout February, with additional dates on March 1 and April 12, 19, and 26.
These sessions uniquely combine yoga with high-intensity workouts, providing a comprehensive fitness experience in an open, outdoor setting.
Family-Friendly Activities and Creative Workshops
For families with young children, the Messy Play on the Lawn program offers a weekly inclusive playgroup. Held every Tuesday at 10am on the Joondalup Library lawn from February 3 through the first two school terms, these sessions encourage sensory play, creativity, and social interaction in a relaxed outdoor environment.
Creative adults can explore their artistic side through the Paint and Sip workshops scheduled for January 31 and April 11 in Central Park.
Entertainment and Night Markets
Entertainment options abound with a pop-up outdoor cinema running every Saturday and Sunday from April 11 to May 3 at the Central Walk Parking Station. Additionally, live music will enliven various locations across the Joondalup CBD on Saturdays throughout March.
The already popular Joondalup Night Markets will continue to support the season, with upcoming dates including Saturday, February 14, and every Saturday from March 7 to April 4. Visitors can enjoy food trucks, artisan stalls, and live entertainment at these vibrant market gatherings.
Community Vision and Engagement
Mayor Daniel Kingston expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating it brings together everything that makes the Joondalup city centre special. "We want people to feel that the Joondalup city centre is a place where things are happening, where you can meet friends, enjoy great food, get active, try something new or simply soak up the atmosphere," Mr Kingston said.
He emphasised that the program is designed to appeal to all ages and interests, creating memorable experiences while encouraging people to spend time in the city centre and support local businesses. "Whether you're here for the markets, a fitness session, a creative workshop or a night at the pop-up cinema, we want you to feel part of a thriving, connected community," he added.
