An off-duty police officer from the Central Metropolitan Region command in Sydney has been fined and had his driver's licence suspended after being caught drink-driving in Bulli. The 27-year-old senior constable was driving on Hospital Road when he was pulled over for a roadside breath test at approximately 5:45pm on Sunday, May 17. He returned a low-range reading and was subsequently arrested before being taken to Corrimal Police Station. A secondary breath analysis revealed an alleged blood alcohol concentration of 0.068. As a result, the officer was fined $704 and his driver's licence was suspended for three months. The incident serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of drink-driving, even for those entrusted with upholding the law.
