American actress Kate Walsh has documented a bizarre sighting she encountered while driving on a rural road in Australia, leaving her both amused and bewildered.
Surprise on the Road
The Grey's Anatomy star is no stranger to Australian shores, having called Perth home since the COVID-19 pandemic and residing in City Beach with her WA-based husband Andrew Nixon. However, Walsh, 58, admitted that there are things about her adopted homeland that continue to surprise her.
Posting a series of videos to her Instagram story on Wednesday, the actress — dressed casually in a black hoodie — shared a movie-like experience that occurred off the beaten path.
"Often in the country whilst driving in Australia you get stuck behind oversized vehicles," she said. "I've never seen one that is this oversized... it was like, 'Is that a movie, is that like a moving story, is that a play on a truck, is it a Dr Seuss book come to life?'"
Walsh's Reaction
Conceding her imagination may have got the better of her, Walsh added: "I hope you're as amused by it as I was."
The Emily in Paris star then cut to the moving oversized vehicle in question, which sprawled across two driving lanes and appeared to have arched and suspended its unused tyres in the air while free of cargo. Walsh accompanied the footage with circus-like music to emphasise the vehicle's odd shape and its novelty to her.
"I will say the gentleman in the oversized vehicle was very kind. He kindly pulled over and let me pass," she continued. "But boy, it was a treat... I was like, 'Is this where the timeline split, am I driving into the matrix, like the other dimension?'"
Life in Australia
A regular on Perth's social scene, Walsh is often spotted at Perth theatre and arts events, and appeared at Perth's Sail GP spectacle in January. Known best for her role as Dr Addison Montgomery in Grey's Anatomy, the actress reprised her famed character earlier this year in a cameo appearance for the show's 22nd season.
