Ellidy Pullin Finds New Love and Happiness Five Years After Husband Chumpy's Death
Ellidy Pullin opens up about new partner and moving forward

Ellidy Pullin is welcoming the new year with a heart full of hope and gratitude, openly sharing that she has found happiness in a new relationship more than five years after the tragic loss of her husband, champion snowboarder Alex "Chumpy" Pullin.

A Journey Through Grief to New Beginnings

In a heartfelt social media post on Tuesday, Ellidy introduced her partner, Brock Wadsworth, to the world. She described navigating the complex emotions of loving again after profound loss but confirmed she is now "truly in such a happy place." Her husband, the beloved Australian Olympian, died in July 2020 at the age of 32 in a spearfishing accident off Palm Beach on the Gold Coast.

The years that followed were marked by both immense sorrow and incredible strength. In a moving tribute to her late husband, Ellidy gave birth to their daughter, Minnie, in October 2021. The now four-year-old was conceived through IVF using sperm retrieved after Chumpy's passing, fulfilling his dream of fatherhood.

Building a Blended Family with Brock Wadsworth

After what she called a "big and wild year," Ellidy expressed excitement for the future with Wadsworth, whom she has known for several years after meeting at a golf day and through mutual friends. She revealed on her podcast, Darling, Shine, that she initially carried "emotional damage" and doubted his interest, but eventually agreed to a date.

In her Instagram tribute, Ellidy, who affectionately calls him "Brick," praised his role in her life and her daughter's. "He adores my little girl, and they adore him back," she wrote, noting he cooks for them, brings flowers, and is a comforting presence. The couple, along with Minnie, have recently been seen celebrating with friends in Bali.

A Heart That Grows With Love and Memory

Ellidy was candid about the challenges of opening her heart to someone new while honouring the love for her late husband. "I've learnt that my heart can grow and grow," she shared, a realisation she first had after the birth of her daughter. She offered a message of support to others grieving, urging them not to compare their journey and to remember that their lost loved ones would want to see them smile.

Despite her newfound joy with Wadsworth, Ellidy made it clear that Chumpy's memory remains a permanent and cherished part of her life. "Of course I love Chumpy, I still love him so much. I'll never not love him," she stated. Her story is a powerful testament to resilience, the expanding capacity of the human heart, and finding light after darkness.
