A childcare worker has been charged with assault after allegedly hitting two children at a centre in Sydney's south-west.

Incident Details

Police allege the 25-year-old male worker slapped two boys, aged three and four, in the face with an open hand at a Panania childcare centre on Thursday at approximately 1pm.

Investigation and Arrest

Detectives began investigating after the incident was reported to Bankstown Police on Friday. Officers arrested the man at a Belmore home around 7.45am on Saturday and took him to Bankstown Police Station.

Charges and Court Appearance

The man has been charged with two counts of common assault and was refused bail. He is expected to appear in court on Sunday.
