Tayla Brown, the longtime partner of former Collingwood star and Brownlow medallist Tom Mitchell, has announced the tragic passing of her father, Darren Brown. In an emotional Instagram post to her 13,300 followers on Wednesday, she wrote, “There are simply no words to describe this kind of pain. Rest in peace Dad. I love you forever.”
Heartbreaking Tribute and Photos
The post featured a carousel of eight photos, including throwback images of Tayla as a child with her father, as well as photos of Darren with his grandchildren. The carousel concluded with a video of Darren holding Tayla’s oldest child, Jack, during a birthday celebration.

Members of the footy community quickly flooded the post with condolences. Tom Mitchell commented a single red heart. Fellow AFL WAGs, including Annalise Dalins, Monique Cripps, and Chloe Pink, also sent their love. Wife Kim’s Tribute
Darren’s wife, Kim, shared a touching tribute on Sunday, describing his death as “sudden” and “unexpected.” She wrote, “Our hearts are broken into a million pieces.”
Funeral Details
Tayla has since shared details of her father’s funeral service, which will be held in Victoria next Tuesday. The tragic news comes just three months after Tayla and Tom welcomed their second son, Max.
