Robert Irwin, the 22-year-old TV star and wildlife warrior, was all smiles as he stepped out in New York City with wildlife photographer Ashleigh Scully, whom he is rumoured to be dating. The pair were photographed arriving at the Hulu studios, where Irwin is promoting his new spin-off series Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, which he hosts and is set to premiere on July 13.
Irwin's Signature Style on Display
Irwin distracted paparazzi with beaming smiles and waves, wearing a jacket in his signature khaki, blue jeans, and white sneakers. Meanwhile, Scully, 25, stayed at the back of Irwin's entourage and at times attempted to hide her face from prying cameras. She looked chic in an all-black outfit consisting of a black blazer, trousers, and heels.
A Long-Standing Friendship
The pair have known each other since 2018, after meeting in the US and later reuniting as judges for Crikey! Magazine's photography competition. In 2018, Scully shared a photo of herself posing with Irwin, his mother Terri, and sister Bindi on Instagram, urging her followers to help stop hunting grizzly bears in Wyoming. The post read: "Please consider joining me and my friends, the Irwins, by speaking up on behalf of Wyoming's grizzly bears. The planned trophy hunt of 24 grizzlies is scheduled for the fall of 2018, and we can still influence this decision."
Romance Rumours Intensify
Romance rumours began in late March when they were spotted together near the set of the American version of Dancing with the Stars, which Irwin won alongside partner Whitney Carson. According to sources, Terri and Bindi are fond of Scully but have expressed concerns over how fast the relationship is moving, as Irwin has reportedly been eager to make plans for her to be heavily involved in his life and work at Australia Zoo.
"It's not that they're questioning Ashleigh herself," a source told US tabloid In Touch Weekly. "In fact, they think she seems lovely and can completely understand why he's so taken with her. Their concern is more that he's already racing ahead and making all sorts of plans when the relationship is still very new."
