A high school teacher from Sydney's eastern suburbs is facing serious charges after New South Wales Police foiled an alleged plan to sexually assault two children.
Early Morning Arrest in Bondi
The 63-year-old man was arrested at his Bondi home around 8am on Wednesday while officers executed a search warrant. The arrest was the culmination of an investigation into the teacher's alleged communications with another man already before the courts on child sexual assault offences.
Messages Reveal Alleged Plot
Police allege that a forensic examination of three mobile phones, seized during a previous arrest, uncovered disturbing communications. The examination reportedly revealed the two men were plotting to sexually assault two children known to the teacher. The alleged planning period spanned from June 2024 to July 2025.
The other man, aged 35, was arrested on September 5 during a search warrant at a Randwick home. He remains before the courts charged with serious child sexual assault offences.
Charges Laid and Bail Refused
The Bondi teacher has been charged with two counts of incite to commit an aggravated sex assault with others (DV) and using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material. He was refused bail following his arrest.
The accused educator is scheduled to appear before the Bail Division of Local Court 7 on Thursday. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of NSW Police to investigate and prosecute alleged child exploitation offences, particularly those facilitated through digital communication services.
