NSW's $50 Active and Creative Kids Vouchers: Boost for Families in 2026
NSW $50 Kids Vouchers Help Families Save on Activities

New $50 Voucher Round Opens for NSW Families to Support Active and Creative Kids

Families across New South Wales have a fresh opportunity to claim financial support for their children's extracurricular pursuits, with the latest round of the NSW Government's Active and Creative Kids voucher program now open for applications. This initiative provides a $50 voucher twice per year, aimed at easing the burden of costs associated with sports, recreational, creative, and cultural activities for eligible youngsters.

Key Dates and Eligibility Criteria for the 2026 Vouchers

The first voucher for 2026 became available from January 15, with a second installment scheduled for release from July 15. To qualify, children must be NSW residents aged between four-and-a-half and 18 years. Additionally, their parent, guardian, or carer must have received Family Tax Benefit Part A, Part B, or both in the current or previous financial year.

Heather Bryant, a mother of three, shared how the vouchers have positively impacted her family. "My children are enrolled in a range of sports and activities," she explained. "My 12-year-old daughter loves soccer, my 10-year-old son enjoys karate and art classes, and my seven-year-old participates in dancing and swimming lessons. The vouchers certainly help with the cost, allowing them to engage in multiple activities rather than being limited to just one."

Wide Range of Eligible Activities and Simple Application Process

The voucher can be used for a diverse array of approved pursuits, including but not limited to:

  • Dance, music, and drama classes
  • Sports such as football/soccer, martial arts, gymnastics, tennis, rugby league, basketball, and netball
  • Creative endeavours like visual arts, painting, drawing, singing, creative writing, choreography, and circus arts
  • Educational activities including languages and coding

It is important to note that vouchers must be redeemed with a registered activity provider before their expiry date. The application process is straightforward: parents or guardians need a MyServiceNSW account and can apply online via the Service NSW website or mobile app by selecting the 'apply online' button. After following the prompts, successful applicants will find the voucher in their app's 'vouchers' section and receive an email with a downloadable and printable version. For those unable to apply online, assistance is available by calling 13 77 88.

Heather emphasised the value of the program, noting, "It's quite a simple process to apply. You might think it's only $50, but it offers significant savings, especially if you use two vouchers per year for multiple children."

Timing Aligns with Sign-Up Season for Activities

The release of these vouchers coincides with the peak sign-up period for many extracurricular programs, making it an ideal time for families to register their children for chosen activities to secure spots. This strategic timing ensures that financial support is available when it is most needed, helping to promote physical activity, creativity, and social engagement among young people throughout the state.

By reducing financial barriers, the Active and Creative Kids voucher program not only supports individual family budgets but also encourages broader participation in community-based activities, fostering healthier and more culturally enriched lifestyles for NSW's younger generation.
