A secondary school in Melbourne's southeast was thrown into lockdown on Tuesday afternoon after a violent stabbing incident on its grounds.

Police and paramedics were called to the Acacia campus of Keysborough Secondary College around 3pm following urgent reports of an assault. Multiple emergency service vehicles converged on the school in the Keysborough area, with the scene captured by overhead news helicopters.
The victim, a man, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital. Authorities have confirmed his injuries are non-life-threatening.
