A primary school in Melbourne's southeast was thrust into a brief lockdown on Thursday morning after a reported stabbing incident on its grounds.
Lockdown and Emergency Response
The incident occurred at Brentwood Park Primary School in Berwick at approximately 9am. In response to the emergency, the school immediately initiated its lockdown procedures to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene following reports of the assault. Upon arrival, they located a young boy who had sustained a stab wound. Fortunately, paramedics treated the child at the scene for what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

Victoria Police confirmed that they spoke with an 11-year-old boy in relation to the incident. The young boy is not currently in police custody as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing continues.
Another woman also received treatment for minor injuries, though the nature of her involvement has not been fully detailed by authorities at this stage.

In an email sent to parents and guardians, which was obtained by 7NEWS, the school administration confirmed that the lockdown was only in place for a short period. The communication assured families that "We are now out of lockdown and all students and staff are safe."
