Shoalhaven man charged with historic child sex crimes

A South Coast man is facing serious historic child sex charges following a police investigation into alleged offences dating back more than two decades.

Police investigation uncovers alleged crimes

Detectives from the NSW Police Force have charged a 55-year-old Shoalhaven man with multiple historical sexual assault offences following extensive investigations. The alleged crimes involve two young girls who were aged 12 and 13 at the time of the incidents.

According to police statements, multiple offences are alleged to have occurred between 2000 and 2003 in Callala Bay, involving a girl who was just 13 years old during that period.

Recent report leads to arrest

The investigation gained new momentum in May 2025 when police received another report concerning alleged sexual assault offences against a different girl, who was 12 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

Following these reports, detectives executed a search warrant at a Shoalhaven property at 8:10am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Police arrested the 55-year-old resident at the scene and transported him to Nowra Police Station for questioning.

Multiple charges laid

The man has been charged with ten separate offences, including seven counts of sexual intercourse with a person aged between 10 and 16 years and three counts of committing an act of indecency with a person under 16 years.

Following his arrest, the accused was refused bail and scheduled to appear in Bail Division Court 3 on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
