A man is facing serious charges following an alleged domestic violence stabbing at a popular Central Coast restaurant on Boxing Day, leaving another man fighting for his life in hospital.

Violent Incident Disrupts Holiday Celebrations

Emergency services were called to a restaurant on The Entrance Road at The Entrance just before 6pm on Friday, December 26. The call came after reports that a man had been stabbed during an altercation.

Officers from the Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived at the scene alongside NSW Ambulance paramedics. They found a 63-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, the victim was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Swift Arrest and Serious Charges Laid

Police immediately established a crime scene and began their investigation. Their inquiries led to the swift arrest of a 40-year-old man nearby at Long Jetty. It is believed the two men were known to each other.

The arrested man was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was formally charged. The charges include reckless wounding in a domestic violence context and breach of an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO).

Court Appearance and Bail Refused

The accused was refused bail and was scheduled to appear before the Parramatta Bail Court Division on Saturday, December 27. The case highlights the ongoing issue of domestic and family violence, even during the holiday period.

Local residents expressed shock at the violent incident occurring in a typically busy dining precinct on a major public holiday. Police investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the stabbing are continuing.
