Princess Cruises is capitalising on the sustained surge of interest in Japan by rolling out an expansive cruise season for 2027 and 2028, combining South-East Asia and Japan voyages into a single, comprehensive offering. This initiative includes 96 departures, 61 distinct itineraries, and 55 destinations spread across nine countries, providing travellers with unprecedented access to the region.
Immersive Japan Experiences
Jim Berra, Chief Commercial Officer of Princess Cruises, emphasised the depth of this new season, stating, "This is the most immersive Japan season we've ever introduced and one that reflects how our guests want to experience the destination today." The Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess will homeport in Japan, enabling late-night stays strategically timed to coincide with Japan's most celebrated summer festivals. Additionally, these ships will visit all four main islands during peak seasons such as cherry blossom and fall foliage, enhancing the cultural and natural appeal.
Enhanced Onboard and Onshore Features
The Diamond Princess boasts the Izumi Japanese bath, an 818-square-metre onsen facility reputed to be the largest bathhouse at sea, offering an authentic relaxation experience. Both vessels feature specialty dining venues like Makoto Ocean, adding to the culinary journey. For South-East Asia, longer voyages are planned, providing more opportunities for land exploration and connecting multiple countries in a single journey, ideal for adventurous travellers.
