Eclipse Expeditions Sails WA's South West & New Dwellingup Bike Trails Open
New WA Summer Sailing & Expanded Dwellingup Bike Trails

Western Australia's South West is set for an exciting summer season with two major developments for adventure seekers. A luxury catamaran is returning to the pristine waters of Geographe Bay, while an expanded mountain bike trail network has just opened in Dwellingup, offering riders dozens of new kilometres to explore.

Luxury Sailing Returns to Geographe Bay

Eclipse Expeditions is officially sailing again in Western Australia's stunning South West region this summer. The company's luxury catamaran, Eclipse, will commence its first voyage in the sheltered waters of Geographe Bay on December 14, 2025.

The vessel will operate its popular South West Safari voyages, which run for two and three nights, continuously until March 3, 2026. For those seeking a more private experience, the catamaran is also available for exclusive hire on a private day charter basis.

The capacity of the catamaran is set at up to eight guests for overnight trips and up to twelve guests for day charters. All voyages are exclusively focused on the Dunsborough and Geographe Bay area, taking full advantage of the region's breathtaking coastal scenery.

An Unforgettable On-Water Experience

Guests aboard the Eclipse will be treated to a unique perspective of the coastline. The itinerary includes visits to secluded beaches and hidden coves, accessed via a tender. Onboard, a chef prepares meals, and guests are served a selection of premium West Australian wines and beverages.

Jackson, co-founder and skipper, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Returning to the South West feels like coming home. This coastline is world-famous and well known, but from the water and deck of Eclipse you see it differently." He highlights the afternoon glass-offs, striking cliffs at sunset, and the profound sense of calm that comes from being on the water.

The adventures from the deck are plentiful. Anchorages include picturesque spots like Eagle Bay and Castle Rock, with activities ranging from swimming in crystal-clear bays to snorkelling with playful Australian sea lions. Guests can even explore sections of the famous Cape-to-Cape track from a unique vantage point.

The liveaboard voyages start from $2970 per person, while chartering the entire vessel begins at $7130 per night. Eclipse is a new Leopard 50 catamaran and is proudly West Australian owned and operated.

Dwellingup Mountain Bike Trail Network Expands

Shifting from sea to land, mountain biking enthusiasts have a major new attraction to explore. Stage two of the Dwellingup Mountain Bike Trail network is now officially open for riding.

This significant expansion means that, when combined with the existing stage one trails, riders now have access to a total of 68km of dedicated bike trails to conquer. This development is a key part of the larger $8.5 million Dwellingup Adventure Trails project.

The newly opened section introduces 40km of brand new mountain bike trails located within the beautiful Lane Poole Reserve. In addition to the new paths, the project has also delivered upgrades to the pre-existing Marrinup and Turner Hill mountain bike trails, enhancing the experience for all skill levels.

With these two developments, Western Australia solidifies its position as a premier destination for both marine and terrestrial adventures, offering unparalleled opportunities to connect with nature and seek out thrilling experiences.
