Litchfield Minerals Wraps Up Oonagalabi Drilling Amid Challenging Weather Conditions

Litchfield Minerals has successfully concluded its latest drilling campaign at the Oonagalabi project, located near Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. The company completed 11 reverse circulation (RC) holes totaling 1791 metres and three diamond holes for 1214 metres, targeting key geological prospects across the tenement.

Expanded Drilling Efforts and Target Testing

The drilling program extended beyond the main Oonagalabi prospect to include tests at the Bomb-Diggity target and a range of priority electromagnetic conductors, magnetic anomalies, and induced polarisation (IP) targets. All samples from this campaign have been submitted for analysis, with results anticipated in May, which will provide critical insights into the mineral potential of the area.

Despite facing significant challenges, including wet weather in mid-March that caused access difficulties, Litchfield managed to maintain rig operations and prepare new drill pads. The field crews demonstrated resilience, continuing work since early January and delivering the entire program under demanding environmental conditions.

Impact of Severe Weather Events

The company's operations were further tested by severe tropical cyclone Narelle, which struck Western Australia in late March as a Category 3 system. With wind gusts reaching up to 250km/h, the cyclone caused damage to homes, power outages, and heavy rainfall across regions including the North West Cape and Gascoyne. This extreme weather highlighted the unpredictable challenges faced by exploration teams in remote areas.

Strategic Geological Enhancements and New Drilling Initiatives

To bolster its exploration capabilities, Litchfield has appointed senior exploration geologist Matt McGloin, strengthening its geological team. In early April, the company initiated a new phase of RC drilling focused on priority geophysical conductors and chargeability anomalies at the VT1 and VT2 targets, along with step-out drilling from the Main Zone, aiming to expand its understanding of the mineralised systems.

High-Grade Discoveries at Silver Valley Project

Simultaneously, Litchfield has reported promising results from its Silver Valley project, situated 300km north of Oonagalabi. Reconnaissance rock chip samples collected in March from quartz-vein related mineralisation have yielded standout numbers, including one sample with 378 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 0.91g/t gold, 5.04% copper, and 44.9% lead. Another sample returned 128g/t silver and 16.1% lead.

Matthew Pustahya, Managing Director of Litchfield Minerals, commented: "These results are exactly what we were hoping to see from our first pass reconnaissance at Silver Valley. Results of this tenor, including 378 g/t silver and 44.9% lead, confirm that parts of the system are genuinely high-grade, and reinforce our view that there is the potential for a large, mineralised vein system."

The company believes these high-grade surface hits could indicate a broader vein system, supported by extensive local quartz development and visible sulphides, within a historical context of high-grade production. This suggests the mineralised system may extend at depth and beneath shallow surface cover, offering significant exploration upside.

Future Plans and Strategic Developments

Looking ahead, Litchfield plans to integrate the upcoming Oonagalabi assay results into its geological and geophysical datasets to refine regional targeting and develop a new, high-confidence drilling plan. At Silver Valley, further fieldwork is scheduled for May to map vein trends and geometry, utilizing IP geophysics to identify sub-surface base metal sulphides and related silver mineralisation.

Additionally, the company is set to disclose details of its involvement in the BHP Xplor Program Accelerator, having received US$500,000 (approximately A$700,000) in non-dilutive, equity-free funding. This announcement is expected to outline specific workstreams and the strategic rationale behind them, enhancing Litchfield's exploration initiatives.
