In your editorial ("Butler punishes the prudent elderly", Opinion, 24/4) you criticised the government's planned reduction of the higher private health insurance (PHI) rebate for older Australians.
I acknowledge the affordability constraints you describe. However, it would be remiss of me not to point out what terrific value private health insurance is already and would remain for older Australians like me.
