Emirates Launches Premium Economy from Perth: Affordable Luxury Takes Off
Emirates Premium Economy Launches for Perth Travellers

West Australian travellers seeking a more luxurious flying experience without the business class price tag have just received their golden ticket. Emirates has officially launched its highly anticipated premium economy cabin for flights departing from Perth.

A New Era of Mid-Range Comfort

The new service is available on the airline's flagship A380 aircraft, which has been specially refitted to include the premium cabin. This follows the successful rollout of the class in other major Australian cities like Sydney and Melbourne. The premium economy section is located at the front of the plane, offering Sandgropers a stylish and comfortable start to their journey, complete with a welcome drink and blanket reminiscent of business class service.

The aircraft will operate on the popular Perth to Dubai route, a key gateway for Australians connecting to destinations across Europe and the globe. For locals planning their next holiday, this new option presents a perfect middle ground, offering a flash experience without the flight costing more than the actual trip.

What Makes Emirates Premium Economy Special?

According to Emirates regional sales manager Adam D’Ambrosio, the premium economy class is designed with unique features to distinguish it from the other three classes onboard. "We have a specific menu designed for premium economy, speciality wines, spirits, and other drinks which are exclusive for that cabin," Mr D’Ambrosio said. "There’s a welcome drink on arrival, so we take elements from business class and introduce it into premium economy."

The headline feature, however, is undoubtedly the seat. Each one boasts:

  • A generous 20-inch width and 40-inch pitch for superior space.
  • A footrest and button-controlled reclining options.
  • A deeper, cradle recline for enhanced relaxation.

This configuration offers considerably more legroom than standard economy, ensuring even the tallest flyers can stretch out. The cabin also features easier access to amenities, with 56 seats sharing three dedicated lavatories to minimise queues.

Strong Demand and a Commitment to WA

Emirates expects the new product to be an instant hit with Perth's diverse travelling public. Mr D’Ambrosio noted that the demographic for premium economy is wide-reaching, often attracting economy passengers looking to upgrade their experience for a relatively small increase in cost.

"I think it is the best premium economy out of Western Australia, the demand is already very strong so we hope to see that continue," he stated. "This is not only a new product, but also a statement of our ongoing investment and commitment to ensuring Perth has direct access to our most advanced and comfortable products."

With its blend of affordability and luxury, Emirates' new premium economy service from Perth is set to redefine mid-tier air travel for West Australians, making that long-haul flight an integral and enjoyable part of the holiday itself.
