West Australian travellers seeking a more stylish flight experience without the business class price tag have received a major boost, with Emirates officially launching its premium economy cabins for Perth flyers. The award-winning service, now available for booking, arrives in Perth following its successful rollout in other major Australian cities.
A New Class of Comfort for Sandgropers
The new cabin class is fitted aboard the airline's A380 aircraft, providing a welcome middle ground for locals planning their next holiday. Emirates regional sales manager Adam D’Ambrosio highlighted the unique features designed to make the premium economy experience stand out. "We have a specific menu designed for premium economy, speciality wines, spirits, and other drinks which are exclusive for that cabin," he said.
Passengers are greeted with a welcome drink and a blanket upon boarding, mirroring the service found in business class. The refitted Airbus will transport travellers from Perth to the airline's hub in Dubai, a key stopover point for journeys continuing to destinations across Europe and the globe.
Designed for Space and Relaxation
The headline feature of the new offering is undoubtedly the seats. Each one provides a significant upgrade from standard economy, boasting a 20-inch width and a 40-inch pitch. "Each has a foot rest and button controlled reclining options that offer considerably more leg room than an economy flight - letting even the tallest flyer feel relaxed," Mr D’Ambrosio explained. The seats also feature a calf rest and a deeper, cradle recline for enhanced comfort during the long-haul flight to Dubai.
Accessibility is another key benefit, with the 56-seat premium economy cabin being served by three dedicated lavatories, making for easier access to amenities throughout the journey.
Strong Demand and Continued Commitment
With the premium class already proving popular in other Australian markets, Emirates anticipates it will quickly become a favourite for West Australians. Mr D’Ambrosio noted that the demographic for this cabin is wide-reaching, with many passengers upgrading from economy for a significantly improved experience without a massive cost increase.
"I think it is the best premium economy out of Western Australia, the demand is already very strong so we hope to see that continue," he stated. He also emphasised that the launch is a statement of the airline's ongoing investment and commitment to ensuring Perth has direct access to its most advanced and comfortable products.
