Canberra Light Rail Replaced by Buses on July Weekend

Canberra's light rail services will be replaced by buses on the weekend of July 20-21, as Transport Canberra carries out scheduled maintenance works. The replacement will affect the entire light rail line from Gungahlin to the City, with buses running between all stops during the maintenance period.

Service Changes

From the first service on Saturday, July 20, until the last service on Sunday, July 21, light rail services will be replaced by buses. The bus replacement services will operate on a similar frequency to the regular light rail timetable, but passengers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Transport Canberra has stated that the maintenance is essential to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of the light rail network. The work will include track maintenance, overhead wire inspections, and other routine checks.
