Yarralumla Crash Injures Two; Police Seek Witnesses

ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision in Yarralumla on Tuesday evening that left two people injured.

Crash Details

Emergency services responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Novar Street and Hopetoun Circuit around 6:30 pm on 19 November 2024. Initial investigations indicate that a silver Toyota Corolla and a white Mitsubishi Outlander collided, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 34-year-old woman, and the driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander, a 42-year-old man, were transported to Canberra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both remain in stable condition.

Police Appeal

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. Acting Station Sergeant Mark Richardson said, "We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen the vehicles travelling in the area prior to the collision."

"Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial to our investigation," he added.

Investigation Ongoing

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police have not ruled out speed or driver distraction as contributing factors. The intersection was closed for several hours while forensic officers examined the scene, but has since reopened.
