Children Injured in Three-Car Crash, Highway Closed

A serious three-car collision north of Narooma has left four people injured, including two children, and forced the closure of the Princes Highway in both directions.

Emergency services rushed to the scene between Dalmeny Drive and Riverview Road at approximately 1:30 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Upon arrival, they discovered a white sedan overturned on a corner, with debris scattered across the roadway.

Four ambulances, fire trucks from the Narooma Rural Fire Service, and multiple police vehicles attended to the injured individuals. Police quickly established a detour, directing traffic up Riverview Road while the highway remained shut.

Injuries Sustained

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed that a male child was treated for a head injury, while another male child sustained injuries from their seatbelt. A woman in her 30s suffered a shoulder injury, and a woman in her 60s sustained injuries to her foot. All four patients were transported to Moruya Hospital in a stable condition.

The male driver of one of the vehicles was also taken to Moruya Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as is standard procedure following such incidents.

Ongoing Closure

As of the time of publication, the Princes Highway remained closed in both directions between Dalmeny Drive and Riverview Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow the designated detour via Riverview Road. Authorities have not yet provided an estimated time for reopening.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
