The Port Kembla Festival brought the community together on Saturday, April 18, with more than 40 artists performing across 10 venues along Wentworth Street. The annual event featured markets, workshops, and light installations, turning the street into a vibrant music festival from 2pm.
Local businesses played a key role, with The Shave Cave barbershop once again serving as a music venue. Owner Martelle Jackson expressed her excitement, saying she loves getting involved and that the festival has been good for her business. She has hosted since the inaugural edition, when festival organizer Harrison Hall approached her after hearing about the shop from a friend.
Other venues hosting live music included The Servo, The Wentworth, The Iron Yampi, and The Vault. The festival highlighted the strong sense of community in Port Kembla, with business owners sharing stories of mutual support, such as florists providing flowers to new restaurants and hairdressers recommending new shops.
