Elizabeth Quay will host the inaugural Kaleidoscope @ the Quay on Saturday evening, a free community event featuring a floating music stage, roving performers, and a Western Australian-first light show. The event runs from 5pm to 9pm at the CBD precinct, offering a waterfront festival celebrating light, music, and culture for all ages.
The centerpiece is Accordion, a large-scale light installation by internationally renowned studio Amigo & Amigo. It comprises six accordion-inspired archways that move dynamically, creating a symphony of light, color, and melody in response to human movement. The installation will illuminate the Quay nightly from 6pm to midnight until February 22.
MC Christina Morrissy described the artwork as visually stunning and accessible, noting that visitors become part of the experience as they move through the glowing archways. The event also includes water-themed activities, roaming acrobats, food trucks, and waterfront dining options for families.
Live music will be performed from a floating stage by acts including PROOF The Band, FELIX, Boox Kid, and teenage talent Gisella Colletti. Colletti, who finished in the top 3 on Australian Idol last year, expressed excitement about performing on a floating stage at Elizabeth Quay, calling it an unreal opportunity.
Additional attractions include a Jazz Parade featuring award-winning musicians Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys, an outdoor art spectacle from Perth Plain Air Painters, and an 80-metre illuminated Disco on the Bridge dance space.
