Artists in Canning and beyond are invited to apply for Gesturing Together: Creative Lab, a two-day collaborative workshop hosted by the City of Canning and WA arts organisation SPACED. The workshop will take place on June 6-7 at the Hillview Intercultural Community Centre in Bentley.
The event is open to early-to-mid career artists and aims to bring together 20 WA-based artists to broaden their ideas and creative processes. Participants will engage in conversations, activities, peer-to-peer sharing, and talks by guest artists and experts, with lunch and catering provided.
Mayor Patrick Hall highlighted the city's commitment to the arts, stating that the workshop is a first for Canning and will allow emerging artists to share experiences and learn from one another. He noted the city's dedication to creating opportunities for local creatives to thrive in the creative industries.
Interested artists must submit an expression of interest by May 14 at bit.ly/GesturingTogether. The workshop is open to artists from various creative disciplines, with participants selected through a competitive process.
