While it clarified that transit through the strait to or from non-Iranian destinations is not currently reported to be impeded, it warned that ships "may encounter military presence" in the area.
Iran Issues Stern Warning in Response to Blockade
Iran has responded with a severe warning against the US naval actions. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of Iran's Foreign Policy and National Security Committee, stated on state-run Press TV that any US Navy ships attempting to block Iranian ports will be "sent to the bottom of the sea."
Boroujerdi further argued that the United States lacks the "real ability" to execute such a blockade effectively and suggested that other NATO members would not support the aggressive move. This rhetoric underscores the high-stakes nature of the military standoff.
Trump's Forceful Declaration on Blockade Enforcement
Adding to the volatile situation, former US President Donald Trump issued a stark threat regarding the enforcement of the blockade. In a post on Truth Social, he declared, "Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea. It is quick and brutal."
Operational reports confirm that the United States has deployed approximately a dozen US Navy ships to implement the naval blockade of Iranian ports, actively preventing vessels from entering or exiting. This military buildup significantly heightens the risk of direct confrontation in the already tense waters of the Persian Gulf.
