Mostert Masters Sandown in Commanding Victory

Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Chaz Mostert has blasted his way into the BP Adelaide Grand Final after a dominant performance at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 on Saturday. The Gold Coast star was in a class of his own, taking the lead from the very start after his teammate and pole-sitter, Ryan Wood, yielded position into the first turn.

Red Bull Ampol Duo Stage Spectacular Comebacks

While Mostert's victory was the headline act, the day's most compelling subplot belonged to the Red Bull Ampol Racing team. Will Brown engineered a stunning charge through the field, catapulting from 15th on the starting grid to an impressive second-place finish. Not to be outdone, teammate Broc Feeney also made significant gains, climbing from seventh to secure fourth position. Their remarkable drives have placed both drivers in provisional spots for the upcoming Grand Final.

"Thanks to all the fans for coming out today. I owe Woody a beer tonight, he saved my bacon out there," a grateful Mostert said following the race.

Tyre Wear Battle and a Hard-Fought Hat-Trick

The victorious WAU driver acknowledged that the race was far from easy, citing a constant battle with tyre degradation. Despite the challenge, he celebrated his third consecutive win in the series. "Today was a bit of a gift. Bloody hard work on a Super Soft tyre for 250 kays, but we'll carve it up tonight and go again tomorrow," Mostert admitted, already looking ahead to the next day's competition.

The results from the Sandown 500 have set the stage for a thrilling conclusion at the BP Adelaide Grand Final, with the series' top drivers now firmly in contention for the ultimate prize.
