Trainer Danielle Seib Targets Clean Sweep of Wagga Features
Form analyst Shayne O'Cass has delivered his comprehensive race-by-race analysis and best bets for the Wagga race meeting on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The spotlight falls firmly on trainer Danielle Seib, who is aiming to secure all three of the day's feature races while also unveiling an exciting Kiwi-bred juvenile debutant.
Seib's Feature Race Contenders
Seib has strategically positioned her stable stars across the major events. Track specialist Associate will contest the Murrumbidgee Cup over 1800 meters, having previously demonstrated his affinity for the Wagga circuit with a spectacular come-from-behind victory in the prestigious Ted Ryder Cup on Christmas Eve.
"He is going as good as ever," Seib confirmed about Associate. "I like him from that gate (5). It looks a good even tempo so we are not having to make any moves from that barrier, he will just be where he is comfortable and I think over 1800m, that could be midfield."
Provided Associate performs well, Seib plans to progress him to the Wagga Cup on Friday, May 1. Meanwhile, stablemate Spread The Love will compete in the Wagga Guineas Prelude over 1400 meters, with the $80,000 Wagga Guineas on May 1 as his ultimate target.
Promising Debutant Avido
The day's most intriguing newcomer is Avido, a $170,000 purchase from the 2025 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale who makes his debut in the Sandbar At Kooringal 2YO Handicap. Bred at Waikato Stud in New Zealand, Avido represents an impressive pedigree as a son of Super Seth with broodmare sires including Savabeel, Pins, O'Reilly, Carolingian and Centaine.
"He's not really a 1000m horse, I think he is going to develop into a horse that will definitely run seven furlongs but he did everything right in the trial," Seib explained. "He is a nice horse moving forward and hopefully he does everything right and has a nice debut."
Best Bets and Analysis
O'Cass has identified his top selections across the eight-race card:
- BEST BET: Race 5 No. 3 ASSOCIATE - Won the Ted Ryder at his previous Wagga visit and has shown strong form in lead-up races.
- NEXT BEST: Race 8 No. 6 SWINGING HIGH - Has performed exceptionally well in Highway races and carries favorable weight here.
- VALUE BET: Race 1 No. 1 AVIDO - Well-bred debutant who has trialed impressively ahead of his first race start.
For quaddie players, O'Cass recommends the following combination: Race 5: 1, 3, 5; Race 6: 6, 7; Race 7: 2, 5, 6; Race 8: 3, 6, 12, 13.
