The prestigious event, held at Optus Stadium on Friday, March 27, drew hundreds of attendees to celebrate outstanding achievements across the golfing community.

A Night of Multiple Accolades

The nearly century-old private club on Walter Road dominated the awards ceremony, securing victories in five key categories. These included metropolitan golf course of the year, most outstanding WA club, facility or place to play — metropolitan, WA environmental award, volunteer of the year awarded to Tim McAuliffe, and course superintendent of the year awarded to Rod Tatt. This remarkable sweep highlights the club's dedication to quality, sustainability, and community engagement.

Celebrating a Milestone Year

The awards come on the heels of a significant year for Mt Lawley Golf Club, marked by the completion of major renovations and its 11th hosting of the WA Open. These achievements have solidified its reputation as a premier golfing destination in Perth. City of Stirling mayor Mark Irwin praised the club, stating, "For Mt Lawley Golf Club to win five categories is a credit to their team — and it makes us proud as a city to be home to the metropolitan golf course of the year." He also acknowledged other local finalists, including Stirling Leisure – Hamersley Public Golf Course.

Recognition Across the City of Stirling

The awards ceremony also shone a spotlight on other notable venues and individuals from the City of Stirling. Lake Karrinyup Country Club's David Milne was a finalist for PGA WA coach of the year – high performance, while Scarborough Ladies Golf Club's Karen Sloper was recognized as a finalist for volunteer of the year. Additionally, The WA Golf Club's general manager Damien Todorovic received Golf Management Australia's certified club management qualification recognition, underscoring the region's strong presence in the golf industry.
