Match Overview

The 24-year-old Ukrainian, seeded 12th, overcame a mid-match wobble to beat the 21-year-old Czech in two hours and 11 minutes on Centre Court. Kostyuk will face either world No. 1 Iga Swiatek or 2022 champion Elena Rybakina in Saturday's final.

Kostyuk started strongly, breaking Noskova in the first game and holding serve to take the opening set. However, Noskova, ranked 28th, fought back in the second set, breaking Kostyuk twice to level the match.

Deciding Set Drama

The third set was a tense affair, with both players holding serve until the sixth game. Kostyuk secured the crucial break at 3-3, then served out the match to love, clinching victory with a forehand winner.

“I’m speechless. This is a dream come true,” Kostyuk said in her on-court interview. “Linda played an incredible match, and I had to dig deep. The crowd was amazing, and I’m so grateful.”

Kostyuk becomes the first Ukrainian woman to reach a Wimbledon singles final, and the first from her country to reach any Grand Slam final since Elina Svitolina at the 2023 US Open. She is also the youngest Wimbledon finalist since 2020.

Noskova, who had upset third seed Aryna Sabalenka in the quarter-finals, was aiming to become the first Czech finalist since Petra Kvitova in 2019. Despite the loss, she is projected to rise to a career-high ranking of No. 15.
