West Coast has made three changes for Saturday's round eight clash against Richmond at Optus Stadium, dropping first-round draft pick Bo Allan, second-year defender Sandy Brock, and key forward Jack Williams after last week's 101-point loss to St Kilda.
In their place, the Eagles have recalled veteran premiership defender Tom Cole, experienced forward Matt Owies, and off-season Adelaide recruit Harry Schoenberg. Cole returns for the first time since being dropped after round one.
Richmond has been forced into two changes due to injury, with former No.1 pick Sam Lalor sidelined by a partial Achilles tear and midfielder Hugo Ralphsmith also out. Ruckman Samson Ryan has been omitted. Two-time premiership defender Jayden Short returns after missing the Anzac Eve clash for the birth of his child, while midfielder Tyler Sonsie and ruckman Oliver Hayes-Brown come into the side.
West Coast is looking to end a four-game losing streak, having lost by a combined 331 points in that span. Despite this, the Eagles are favourites at $1.40, with Richmond at $2.95. The Tigers have won six of the past seven meetings between the sides.
Both teams are dealing with lengthy injury lists. West Coast is without defenders Harry Edwards, Brandon Starcevich, and others, while Richmond is missing captain Toby Nankervis and Maurice Rioli among 15 injured players. Midfielder Tim Taranto has also been ruled out for another week due to concussion protocols.
