West Coast Eagles premiership forward Jamie Cripps has officially signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club for the 2026 season. The deal, which was reported in August but delayed, was finalised on Thursday afternoon.
Cripps, who passed the 250-game milestone in round 18 this season, will play a key role in developing the club's younger players. Head of list management and recruiting Matt Clarke expressed delight at the signing, highlighting Cripps' continued high-level performance and leadership.
“Jamie has been a great servant of the West Coast Eagles and while his talent is highly valued, the role that he will continue to play developing our next brigade cannot be understated,” Clarke said. “He is still playing and training at a high level and we love what he brings to the locker room.”
Following the retirements of Dom Sheed and Jeremy McGovern, and Liam Ryan's move to St Kilda, Cripps is one of only four Eagles remaining from the 2018 premiership-winning team. His experience and leadership up forward will be invaluable, especially after the loss of captain Oscar Allen.
Cripps finished the season as the Eagles' leading goal-kicker with 24 majors, demonstrating he still has plenty to contribute on the field.
